Can I stake Horizen (ZEN)?
To actively participate in ZEN staking, a user must lock up a certain amount of coins, becoming a Forger. The more coins staked, the higher the likelihood of being selected to create (forge) a block. Another solution is to run a Super Node. To help run the infrastructure, users can use node hosting services.
How are staking rewards generated?
Forger Nodes: Rewards are generated based on the forger's stake proportion from the previous two consensus epochs, which cover up to 25 hours. Regular payments to forgers occur every 100 mainchain blocks, or approximately every 4-5 hours, known as the withdrawal epoch. Additionally, a weekly payment is made on Mondays, determined by the number of blocks a forger created compared to the total blocks forged.
Super Nodes: Running this type of node earns operators 10% of the block reward.
What are Super Nodes?
While Miners create new block and validate transactions, Super Nodes maintain the logic migration from off-server clusters to sidechains,
which have better computation and storage.
Super Nodes will support multiple applications like ZenGrid, ZenXchange and others.
